SKI Information
There are 3 ski areas in Matsumoto City (Northern Alps Area).
Norikura Highland Hot Spring Ski Resort (Norikura kogen onsen Ski Jyo)
This is the largest Ski area in Matsumoto City. The altitude ranges from 1,500 to nearly 2,000 meters.
So, there is great powder snow to enjoy here. And don’t forget to take a towel with you. A warm and milky hot spring is waiting for you after skiing!
Access: By Car 70 minutes from Matsumoto City downtown
By Bus 70 minutes from Matsumoto Bus terminal

The Nomugi Pass Ski Area (Nomugi Toge Ski Jyo)
You can enjoy a great view of Mt. Norikura(Front), the peaks of Hotaka (Right), Mt. Ontake (Left) and Mt. Kisokoma (Back).
Because of its high altitude (1,400 to 2,130 meters) the snow quality is quite high. There are also some
hot springs near this ski area so you can warm down after skiing.

Norikura Highland Igaya Ski Area (Norikura kogen Igaya Ski Jyo)
This ski area was named after the famous Japanese skier, Chiharu Igaya, who won the silver medal
at the VII Winter Olympic Games in Cortina d`Ampezzo, in 1956.
He had lived in Norikura (Bandokoro area) in 1938 when he was 8 years old.
This ski field is ideal for kids and family fun.
